Rancho Coastal Humane Society staff, board members and volunteers will be present for the ceremony, as will Chuck Swimmer, president of CHARCO Construction and Armando Ivan Flores, vice president.

The City of Encinitas mayor and councilmembers have been invited to participate.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society, a non-profit 501©3 charitable organization, has been serving greater San Diego County since 1961. The mission of Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) is to care for homeless companion animals and to educate the public about pet overpopulation and responsible care. Each year, more than 1,300 animals (cats, dogs and rabbits) are adopted from RCHS.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society is also the first humane society to install solar panels to provide energy and comfort to the companion animals that are cared for by the humane society. Karen Cardinal, of the National Renewable Energy Lab, located in Golden, Colorado, did a country-wide search and came to the same conclusion, Rancho Coastal Humane Society appears to be the first humane society, nationwide, to make the installation.
