BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics

The Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is to honor outstanding businesses whose commitment to ethical business practices helps to uphold a fair marketplace.

The mission of the Better Business Bureau system is to promote and foster the highest ethical relationship between businesses and the public through voluntary self-regulation, consumer and business education, and service excellence.

In this spirit, the Better Business Bureaus conducts an annual awards program to gain public recognition for businesses that maintain a solid commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical fashion. Each year, companies of different sizes are selected through a regional competition to receive the Better Business Bureaus? Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. The Torch Award is designed to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices, but the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses to ensure that our marketplace remains fair and honorable.

Charco Construction has been honored for the last three years, as the Winner of the 2005 Torch Award and finalists in 2003 and 2004.

Each year Qualified Remodeler Magazine sponsors it's "Top 500" which ranks contractors as to total volume of work. Last year Charco was ranked 81st nationally. Similarly Remodel Magazine has it's "Top 100", and Charco was rated 68th.

A policy Charco has incorporated is our "Library Fund". With each new contract that is written, we are donating one hundred dollars, ($100.00) to a local elementary school of the customer's choice. The money is to be used to buy new books for the school's library. We feel after 40 years of customer support from all over San Diego County, this would be a good way to give back to the overall community while at the same time involving our clients in the donation distribution. The idea has been very well received.
