Chuck Swimmer Chuck Swimmer, President

Chuck Swimmer was born in Canton, Ohio and educated at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Charco Construction was founded in January 1966, and has been serving San Diego and surrounding areas ever since.

Chuck contributes to the community and is an active participant in many organizations including serving on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau and the California Highway Patrol, 11 - 99 Foundation. One of Chuck's passions is a love for classic cars.

Through Chuck's leadership Charco Construction was recognized as one of the nation's "Top 50" by "Remodeling Magazine", the Better Business Bureau Torch Award on Ethics and the Union Tribune Reader's Poll "Best Contractor / Remodeler" for eleven consecutive years, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

"Charco gives the Homeowner the best possible work, using the finest materials, the most professional service, at very competitive prices," says Chuck, "I established the bench mark of what a professional quality remodeling company should be. With every job, we keep moving the bar up."

This formula of honesty and integrity has been a successful combination seen through the number of referral contracts and repeat customers Charco Construction generates.

Ivan Flores
Armando "Ivan" Flores, V.P. Chief Operations Officer

Armando "Ivan" Flores brought his talents to Charco in 1997 and has established himself as one of the company's top Designers. His extensive travels and experience gives him unique resources from which to draw as your designer. As a design expert, he has also worked on many large projects; two story additions and complete home remodels, transforming an ordinary house into a show place. Armando works closely with all the day to day operations on every design decision.

One of Armando's greatest talents is his ability to select and coordinate various finish materials. A critical aspect of design for any high end home.

"My job is to make sure every client is totally satisfied, that we meet their every expectation and as Vice President and Chief Operations Officer my involvement is with all day to day operations, from client relations to final design and marketing for Charco Construction."

Project Consultants

Creating a quality remodel design is not a simple task. We must take into account the homes existing layout, structural conditions, zoning/building code requirements, your wish list, and your budget, put them all together and create a solution that is the perfect fit. A Charco Project Consultant will listen to your ideas and concerns, working with you as a team for your custom remodel.

Chuck, Armando, Matt, Lisa or Katie will help you to re-think the project and look at options you may not have considered before. Your consultant will advise you on how to save money in certain areas of the project and where additional dollars could be spent to add excitement and accents that will make your home something really special.

Once the right design solution is conceived, the specific details of the job must be clarified. A successful remodel project must have a clear definition of the work being done. When a Construction Agreement is prepared your Consultant will accurately document in writing the different materials being used and detailing exactly the scope of the work on your project. This gives you the peace of mind of knowing exactly what you're buying.

Lisa Massry
Lisa Massry, Interior Designer

Lisa Massry is our in house interior designer. Her credentials include a Bachelor of Fine Art from USC, an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and Computer Graphics from Platt College, a Master's in Teaching with credentials in Elementary and Art Education from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego.

Lisa's specialties include material and finish selections, space planning, furniture design, colorist, and home accessorizing. Her goal is to put the client's ideas into a beautiful finished product.

Katie Powers
Katie Powers, Construction Coodinator
Green Builder Certified

Katie Powers joined the Charco team after earning her Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2007 from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Her roots are in the San Francisco Bay area, but she has grown to love San Diego and has great enthusiasm for her work in the construction industry. Experience in architecture firms, an innate eye for design, and a passion for architecture make Katie an asset to Charco's design division. Whether she's meeting with clients or preparing drawings, Katie is dedicated to solving every design problem until our clients have a successful finished project.

"To me, architecture is about people. It is about creating spaces that serve the functions and needs of its users. Working in the residential sector provides a unique opportunity to shape the day-to-day lives of people in the place that is most precious to them: the home."

Superintendents

Charco is proud to employ three of the best remodeling Superintendents in San Diego County. Kip, Roger and Juan understand the many aspects of a successful remodel project. It is their job to transform your comfortable home into a construction site, coordinating material deliveries, various workmen, debris removal, and building inspections, all while you quietly enjoy a double latte, not even realizing that we're there!

Actually, going through a remodel can be disruptive to your schedule and intrusive on your privacy. Our Superintendents will take the time to keep you informed of what work is scheduled, protect your property from damage, and organize the project for a speedy completion. They also make sure the job area is cleaned daily and materials kept orderly for the safety of your family. We understand that we are working in your home. Your peace of mind knowing your family is comfortable and safe is very important to us.
